Getting Started
The most difficult part about learning to dance is the decision to get started. Many people try to avoid it because they think they have two left feet. That’s just wrong. Anyone can learn to dance, all it takes is patience, practice and good instruction!
PRIVATE LESSONS are the best way of learning as the instructor focuses on your personal needs. We help our students to feel comfortable by tailoring our instruction to fit every student's dance level and interests.
The number of lessons you will need depends on how many dances you want to learn, your dance experience, your goals, time available to practice and your personal learning style. An average of 5-6 steps per dance will give you enough repertoire to feel comfortable. We find that usually it takes 2-to 3 visits to the studio for a new student to feel at ease.
The best way to start would be to schedule a FREE 30 min private dance lesson.
After that we suggest an "Introductory Program": (3-30 minute private lessons and 1 social dance party) . It will give you a chance to learn basic steps in the most popular social dances or in the dance of your choice. After the Introductory program, you’ll have a better idea which dances you like best.
After you finish the Introductory Program, private lessons will be 50 minutes long and you can purchase lessons in packages , as well as individually.
GROUP CLASSES
If private lessons don’t fit your budget, you can go with the group classes. It’s a great way to meet new people and share the fun of learning to dance. No partner is required.
Most group classes average 4 to 10 people and one instructor. If you have friends who would like to dance, you can create your own group class to increase the enjoyment.
WHAT TO WEAR
We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Medium to low heel shoes with leather soles are the best. Thick and rubber soled shoes are not a good idea since they tend to grip the floor and make it hard to turn. Bring some comfortable shoes, you can change out of them before you leave.
Don’t let your shoes spoil your fun!!!
